Traurig Clinic Bernie Traurig, 2009 Inductee to the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame, has competed in the upper levels of National and International competition in three disciplines - Jumper, Three Day Eventing and Dressage. As a junior Bernie won both the AHSA (now USEF) Medal and the ASPCA Maclay finals in 1961. The hunters Bernie guided to national championships include Gozzi, Riot Free, Mink n' Pearls, Royal Blue and Circuit Breaker, some of the leading horses of the day. Their successes include Horse of the Year honors as well as winning championships at indoors and the major shows of the East Coast. His name is synonymous with the jumpers, The Cardinal, Corsair, Edenvale, Southside, It's Cruising, Maybe Forever, to name but a few of his famous partners. He has won over 60 show jumping Grand Prix, and has represented the USET several times, including the 1982 World Championships in Dublin, Ireland. Bernie has competed in eight World Cup finals, and has won the US League four times. In dressage Bernie has won 15
Grand Prix and Grand Prix Specials. He was short listed for the
1986 World Championships trials and the 1988 Olympic Games. He
was also a member of the US Three Day Eventing Team and second
at the trials for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
